The buddy scheme

Postby crisp » Tue Mar 20, 2007 9:44 am

I am going to ask Brett to sticky this . I am also going to write this as if I know nothing .
A few months ago we hit a problem of a couple of members were ill and we were very concerned as no one knew how to contact them . It was agreed by everyone that something had to be done and for my sins I volunteered to organise this . That was the original reason for all this .
How it will work . If anyone is happy to be contacted when they are missing could they please pm me with contact details , ie name, phone number , email or mobile or even all 3 .If you are not from the UK could you please give me the international dialling code aswell. I will then pass a list of details onto the people who will be dealing with that part of the world . There will be another thread started for people to post on when they are aware that someone has disappeared for no known reason . One of the people looking after that particular area list will then post to say they will take responsibility for trying to contact the missing person , and then post back when we know what is going on .
To let you know the people covering the UK are myself, Helen Midgley, Maureen, Parchment Pat and Mazzer .
Mainland Europe is being covered by Irelandaise.
Our International ladies ( ie not Uk ) will be Adnil , Jakki , Ellisnanna and Minxey.
I would like to thank these ladies for volunteering to help me .
I will send the ladies an updated list of people for their area on the 1st of every month ( circumstances permitting ) So please also remember to contact me if you want to be removed from the list . Also very importantly will you PM me rather than posting on the board if you know you are going to be away for any period of time .
I think I have covered everything , so over to the rest of you
love Chris

missing persons

Postby Gladys May » Tue Mar 20, 2007 10:52 pm

I think this is a brilliant idea, as so many people get forgotten about,
It's so nice to know someone is looking out for us, also people like
yourselves who care. you can certainly have my details, It's not only
that, if anything has happened to any of us, (God forbid) men don't
think of letting everybody know, do they?
Thanking you all for being so caring.
Gladys :D

Hi everyone , can I just add three things

1. I will reply to every pm you send me ( ones with details on ) so that you know you are on the list or that I am aware of something .

2. When you send me your details could you include some address details , it can be as vague as county for uk members or country as I need to know which of the 2 lists to put you on .

3. Please be reassured that if you are away I will not type that directly online and I will keep that detail to myself and be extreemly vague if someone posts you as missing . I think ' shes fine just not on line at the mo' covers a multitude of sins . None of us would like these threads to turn into a burglars paradise . For security reasons if anyone would prefer to tell me they will be away from the forum for a period of time you are more than welcome to email me instead

love Chris
