WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE IN MAKING CARDS?

Postby Joanne@MakingCards » Wed Mar 10, 2010 12:03 pm

Hello all,

We take all your thoughts and opinions on board as a way of building Making Cards and we would like to keep improving. What themes/colours would you like to see in the free gifts? Are you happy with the level of the cardmaking projects? Are there any themes/topics/colourways you would like to see in the projects?

Do you find New to You/Bits to Buy/Your Cards/Dear Making Cards/Nancy's Know How useful and enjoyable?

I would love to hear your feedback. If there are aspects you don't like, please say what you would like to see instead.

It is one of thebetter mags on the market, but your freebies are beginning to look very much the same.
Some of the more dificult card templates would be good, like stepper cards etc.
Would be nice to see things like kanban and Dufex in there along with the stamping companies.
you don,t have to be mad, but it helps!

Have to agree with threecs more templates - like magic cards, circle slider cards
There really have been so many flowers over the past year- how about some teddies, animals, popular characters, some sporty ones but not football, golf, cricket, fishing.
Different techniques - like quilling, triple embossing even parchment.
Book card ideas
Helping us take it to the next level.
Am sure the other ladies will have different suggestions tooo.
I'd rather be card making than working any day!

Damask and brocade designs are very popular now along with flourishes and grunge. Can we have some of that please? (A slightly darker, arty look with less 'pretty pretty'.)
I'd like to see some more templates too. How about an ATC design occasionally?
The Bits to Buy doesn't seem to have the more up-to-date products and tools, just themed items. I don't find this page very interesting.
Nancy's Know How is very good for beginners but I think that those on the forum are mostly quite experienced card makers. It makes quite good reading though if only to refresh my memory!
I never read the letters page as they all just say what a wonderful magazine it is - we all know that, that's why we buy it!

The 'bits to buy' segment is just more advertising. (and totally irrelevant to overseas readers as we can't buy them anyway)
Card designs/papers for men and boys- NOT depicting cricket, football , motor sport ,fishing or golf. Strong male colours would be useful - in stripes or checks. How about designs using Nestabilities . Nellie Snellen,or Cuttlebug dies . Soccer team themes ONCE only !!!!
Templates for Waterfall, Easel cards would be useful. These could be adapted for male themes.
Outlines for Numbers (for children and other ages) that can be made into cards- eg 18 or 21 or 80 for example.
Templates for things like Shoes, handbags, animals, popular childrens idols, boats.
Embossing ideas with standard embossing powder that is obtainable everywhere.
Tea bag folding and Iris folding tutorials.

I was going to give you my idea's, but Marion and Mair have said it all. Great magazine though, I've just renewed my subscription for another year.
